Alone: Frozen will soon hit our screens with the show premiering Thursday, August 11 at 9 p.m. Eastern/8 p.m. Central on the History Channel and streaming the next day. With Season 9 now over, we are very excited to follow previous contestants in this new spin-off of the show. But will the History Channel stream the show on Hulu, Amazon, or Netflix? We’ve got some not-so-great news for you…

Is Alone: Frozen on Hulu, Amazon or Netflix?

Fans of the show tuned in for the finale on the History Channel and were delighted to learn that, despite the show ending this season, the new Alone: Frozen will quench their thirst for survival very soon on the same channel. Newcomers to the series, however, will have to subscribe to the network in order to watch the new spin-off.

Alone: Frozen will not be available on Hulu or Netflix. At least, not right away. Amazon will be different, though.

It’s understandable if you thought it would be on Netflix, since previous seasons used to be. But Netflix’s seasons were removed on June 1 and now it looks like only Season 8 is there in some regions. So you can’t catch Alone: Frozen there.

As for Hulu, seasons 1 through 6 can be streamed there. But since they haven’t added seasons 8 or 9 yet, there’s no reason to believe Alone: Frozen will be added any time soon.

As for Amazon Prime, all the episodes of the latest season 9 are already added (at least, for people in Canada.) So if you’re in certain regions like Canada, you might be able to catch Alone: Frozen. In fact, there’s already a listing here (this is an affiliate link.) In the U.S., the only episode available so far is “Before the Freeze,” which aired on July 27. But it looks like Amazon will be an option for getting the episodes. However, Amazon typically has a delay between when episodes are available on Prime and when they first aired on TV. The episodes aren’t typically posted live.

If you’ve got a subscription to DirectTV, you will have access to the History Channel and its new original. You will need a package that includes the History Channel with your current provider in order to watch your favorite past survivalists battle the icy winds of Labrador.

What is Alone: Frozen About?

This spin-off of “Alone” is called “Alone: Frozen,” and it features a competition in which six of the most dangerous competitors from previous seasons of “Alone” are invited back for a second chance to show how well they can hold their own in the wilderness.

They will have to deal with trying conditions that are more challenging than any of those encountered in any of the previous seasons of Alone. Those survivalists who are able to finish the whole task with just a limited amount of resources and the knowledge that they’ve gained from the experiences that they’ve had in the past will be eligible for a portion of the monetary prize pool, which is set at $500,000.

In addition, the program mentions the following: “Returning survivalists of Alone: Frozen include fan favorites Greg Ovens (season 3), Woniya Thibeault (season 6), Callie Russell (season 7), Mark D’Ambrosio (season 7), Amós Rodriguez (season 7) and Michelle Finn (season 8).”

Some of these contestants left a big impact on some viewers, like user zvalenz on Reddit who can`t wait to see Woniya, Callie and Amòs once again.
