We also see a skull covered in studs and a reveller wearing a mask covered with long spikes.

AHS recently confirmed the theme and release date of the new season following months of fan theories and speculation, too. The latest in Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology series will be set in New York City and will arrive in the US this October, which was confirmed by the show’s official Twitter account.

“New Season. New City. New Fears. FX’s AHS:NYC premieres 10.19 on FX. Stream on Hulu,” the caption read.

The striking poster for the new season features a muscular character covered in studs while wearing studded cuffs and a studded black mask from which fierce-looking studded antlers appear to be growing.

AHS shared a second poster which also confirmed the theme and release date, featuring a female character with a blond quiff, covered in studs and bending backwards wearing a pair of fishnet tights, stilettos and a black leather leotard. Her outstretched hands feature studded talon-like nails.

The new season will arrive in the US on Hulu on Wednesday 19th October, with two episodes premiering.

We still have to wait for an official release date for the UK but we’re expecting it will be this autumn too, and we know it will be launching on Disney Plus.

Ryan Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuk have typically kept this season shrouded in mystery, leading to wild fan theories and one dedicated fan base even threatening to boycott the show until Murphy disclosed more information.

The last season took a unique structure with Double Feature, which split the season into two separate plot lines.

Isaac Powell also featured in the Double Feature season, while Broadway legend Patti LuPone starred in Coven and Ryan Murphy’s two series Pose and Hollywood.

Meanwhile, Sandra Bernhard has also starred in the Apocalypse season along with Ryan Murphy series Pose, while Joe Mantello appeared in the Ryan Murphy series Holllywood and HBO film The Normal Heart.

Charlie Carver also starred in the Ryan Murphy series Ratched and in his produced film The Boys in the Band opposite Quinto.

Will Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters be in American Horror Story season 11?

Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters have yet to confirm whether they will appear in American Horror Story season 11.

The pair have each appeared in the majority of American Horror Story’s seasons, each only missing one season: 1984.

However, Sarah Paulson suggested she may be taking a break from appearing in the series.

Speaking to Variety, Paulson said: “It’s not that I’m not open to it. I’m always open to it, but I feel like I’ve been doing it for a long time, and people might start getting sick of me in that world.

“Let someone else scream and run and cry for a second. Other people can do that too! Also, my nervous system. There was a time when I was younger when I was like, ‘I can do this all night. I love it!’ Now I’m like, ‘Momma’s tired!’”

Paulson is due to lead the second season of Ryan Murphy’s Ratched for Netflix.

Meanwhile, there has been no word on Evan Peters’s return but he is due to lead Ryan Murphy’s 10-part Netflix true crime drama Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

Peters previously spoke out about the toll AHS had on him mentally, telling GQ back in 2018: “I’m goofy, I’m silly, I like to have fun. I don’t like to yell and scream. I actually hate it. I think it’s disgusting and really awful, and it’s been a challenge for me. Horror Story sort of demanded that of me.”

He added: “It’s hurting my soul and Evan as a person. There’s this massive amount of rage that’s been called upon from me, and the emotional stuff that’s been called on me for Pose has been heartbreaking, and I’m sick. I don’t feel good.”
